I began training at X-tra Mile during the Fall of 2015 right after my first season of professional baseball with the Minnesota Twins organization. My only regret is that I didn’t come here sooner. The coaches here are second to none, they are dedicated to maximizing each client’s athletic potential across all ages and backgrounds. The workouts speak for themselves, every exercise is done with a purpose. I spent 5 months training with Pat, Matt, and Tom about 4-5 times a week before heading to my first Spring Training and never felt more ready both physically and mentally for the upcoming season. In addition to training, I would come in during the week for strict recovery day where we would work on mobility, stability, and conditioning that would help me stay on the field for a 140 game season. I attribute my success on the field to the work they put me through at X-tra Mile. As a former student-athlete at Georgia Tech and current professional athlete, the instruction here matches what I’ve experienced at every level of my career. Most of all, I love working out with other athletes from around the area. There is a special camaraderie here between everyone here that is hard to find anywhere else. Very thankful to be a part of the X-tra Mile community and I encourage every athlete to come train here and see what it’s about.
I began to work out at X-tra Mile Fitness as a freshman in high school, the fall of 2009. Each trainer has always supported and trained me to be the best student athlete I could be through my high school and college careers. Although the workouts and training days are strenuous, I was given tremendous support and I have always been able to see great improvement in my strength, endurance and mental toughness. In addition to being in the fitness center for training, Pat would also help me manage my diet so that I could have the best opportunity to recover after each training each day and gain muscle. As a former member of the University of Denver Men’s Lacrosse team, I would find myself at XtraMile Fitness 4-5 times a week during the summer and winter months. I give Pat, Matt and Tom all of the credit for training me to be be in the best shape possible prior to each season and help me become a 4 year starter for a top team in Division 1 Lacrosse!
They incorporate the knowledge they possess, with the hands on skill set and the discipline needed to for all levels of fitness to improve.
Specifically speaking in regards to working with young athletes, they will ensure the right mindset set integrating the hard work necessary to push and challenge your personal limits.
